Berlin, CT Mar 15, 2006 Northeast Generation Services Company (NGS), operator of the hydro-electric power stations that form the Housatonic River Project, has released for public review and comment, a draft final Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) for Candlewood Lake, Lake Zoar and Lillinonah, and the Falls Village and Bulls Bridge riverfronts. The document can be found at www.essexpartnership.com/documents.asp. 

Northeast Generation Services Company will take formal comment on the SMP over the next 30 days, until April 14, 2006. Comments can be sent to the project website, via email to Bruce DiGennaro at bruce@essexpartnership.com , or via US mail to The Essex Partnership, 65 Main Street, Ivoryton, CT 06442.

The draft final SMP is the result of a continuing collaborative effort between NGS, stakeholder representatives, and the public. Following release of an initial Draft SMP on February 14, 2006, NGS hosted a series of Public Forums and met with town representatives to receive input. Based on the input received, NGS has revised the SMP and is now circulating it for further public review and comment. A final SMP will be submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on April 23, 2006.
