2007 Jr Bassmaster Federation Nation Results
On June 21st we had the first Jr. event of the year on Candlewood
Lake out of Squantz Cove. This is the first of 4 events with the
best 3 tournaments counting towards the year end point standings. We
broke records with our totals and big fish in this event.

2)Gianni Roman-3smb-9.36
3)Andy Fisher-3-7.34

Zach Zeno also had big fish for the tournament with a 5.28
smalllmouth bass which if it holds up for the year he receives a
brand new All Star Rod.

Tournament Committee: Alan D. Guite
First of all I’d like to thank the tournament committee and all the
anglers who participated in our last tournament for making it a
success. I’d also like to thank Paul Carter, Ken Bell and Terry
Baksay for making sure that the morning launch at Lattins Cove went
smooth. I appreciate everyone being patient while we learn how to
use our new equipment. I have not heard one complaint therefore I am
going to assume that there are no issues.
On July 8, 2007 we will be holding our third tournament of the 2007
season on the CT. River out of Haddam Meadows. We will be using our
new fish care system at this event. The weigh in will be conducted
differently than previous CBFN weigh ins therefore I need to ask for
everyone’s cooperation. The agenda for all future CBFN tournaments
will be posted on the CBFN message board during the week leading up
to the tournament. Please stress this to all of your club members
who participate in CBFN events and ask them to familiarize
themselves with the agenda prior to tournament day. This will help
the process run smooth.
As a side note, it has come to my attention that the cable has been
removed from the discharge canal at the recently abandoned
Connecticut Yankee Nuclear Power Plant and that the security
personnel are allowing anglers to fish beyond the “Do Not Enter”
sign. Anglers participating in the upcoming CBFN tournament on July
8th will not be allowed to fish beyond the sign. Any angler found to
have gone beyond the sign will be disqualified. NOTE: Since this
report was given, we have learned that the Sign has been removed and
the canal is open for fishing. There will be NO Off Limits for this
tournament.
Once again I would like to ask all participating anglers to hold
their questions until after the weigh in process has been completed.
With the new scale and equipment the individuals running the weigh
in should not be interrupted. This will limit the possibility of
mistakes. The upcoming event on July 8th will be a high profile
event. There may be DEP personnel at the weigh in to observe the new
fish care system. There will be students from the University of
Connecticut on site to assist us with the weigh in. Let’s make sure
we all act in a professional manor. There will be an article written
for BASS Times and many pictures will be taken.
All club presidents will be notified of the date, time and place for
the Mr. BASS pairings within the next couple of weeks.
